Interwoven is a long-term storytelling project exploring how food, music, and people shape community across the country and beyond.
Funded in spring of 2026 by the Ontario Arts Council and l’Alliance Culturelle de l’Ontario as part of the Honourable Edith Dumont’s ‘Franco50’ intiative, the Interwoven project has now been launched. It features farmers and food producers across Ontario, showcasing their stories, heritage and wonderful products.

Cultiver la table, nourrir la culture franco-ontarienne is a bilingual storytelling project exploring Franco-Ontarian culture through the people who grow, produce, teach and think about food across Ontario.
Created by Allison Leroux through Interwoven, the project brings together photographs, interviews, videos and first-hand stories from Franco-Ontarian farmers, food producers, growers and educators. From family farms and community gardens to local food traditions, agricultural heritage and the protection of farmland, each story offers a different perspective on the relationships between food, place, language and culture.
Featuring Karen Houle, Jeannette Mongeon and Michel Dignard, Jean-François Morin of Chickadee Hill Farm, and Phil Winters of GOODLOT Farmstead Brewing Co., the project documents not only what people grow and produce, but the memories, knowledge, values and traditions behind it.
