Highlights include regularly playing with Chuck Jackson/the Legendary Downchild Blues Band, performances at the Southside Shuffle Blues and Jazz Festival with Crossfield Bend, Palmer Rapids Twin Country and Bluegrass Festival with Tyler Cochrane and more. Allison was honoured to share the stage with Sophie B. Hawkins and Paula Cole in Calgary, and performed at Toronto’s Horseshoe Tavern with Eric Jackson and Willow River in 2025. Recently attending the North American Fiddle Convention run by Calvin Vollrath, she found herself jamming with Patti Kusturok, Redd Volkaert, Calvin Vollrath, Tim Crouch, John Arcand, Clint Pelletier, Shane Cook and more, an experience she will never forget.

Solo appearances include the Port Credit Canada Day Parade in July 2024, the Guelph Guild of Storytellers in 2024 and 2025 providing prelude music for storytellers such as Robert Munsch, and many more community/fundraiser events.

Jam sessions are also a central part of her musical life, serving as spaces for learning, mentorship and shared repertoire.

Lessons

Allison offers fiddle and violin lessons for children, youth, and adults in the GTA, with teaching experience through JamSchool in Guelph. She has worked with players at various ages and levels, and, as a mostly self-taught musician herself, understands that each students has different goals and learning styles.

Allison places particular emphasis on learning by ear and making traditional music approachable and on sharing the cultural context behind the tunes.
